Kayla Myers, LPC-S
Certified Trauma + IFS Psychotherapist
I am a trauma-informed psychotherapist (OK License #: 10081) with extensive training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems and the Enneagram personality assessment. My practice is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and I am the founder of Humanity. I received a Master’s in Human Relations with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Oklahoma. Over the last 10 years, I have gained valuable experience working with various care organizations within the United States and overseas. My passion lies in providing holistic care (mind, body, and spirit) through therapeutic services and I am always seeking to create a safe space for my clients with unconditional support and encouragement.
The populations I enjoy working with the most are adolescents (16 and up), college students, and young adults. I believe within each of these seasons having a safe space to process and work through some of life’s trials is important to living a wholehearted, self-aware life. These could include depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, relationship difficulties, hard transitions, feelings of shame/diminished self-worth, and postpartum concerns.
My services are intentional, vulnerable, creative, and evidence-based. I hope to walk alongside my clients as they grow in the valleys of life and develop a deeper awareness of both themselves and others. My approach to counseling incorporates practical tools for engaging emotions and allowing deeper processing for life events from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Acceptance Commitment Therapy modalities as well as principles from the Enneagram Institute.
In addition to the modalities I mentioned above, my practice is very much informed by researchers, writers, and thinkers of the past and the present. I draw on wisdom from people such as Brene Brown, Henri Nouwen, John Mark Comer, Richard Schwartz, John and Julie Gottman, and Adam Young.
