Sometimes it is necessary to step away from our normal everyday life so that we can give full undivided attention to what is going on internally. Below are some of the places I would highly recommend if you are looking for a space to disconnect and give intentional, extended time to your mental and emotional health.
Intensives can be a financial investment but from my experience, both personally and professionally, an intensive can provide significant healing within a shorter period of time sometimes as much or more as spending a year in weekly therapy.

Salt + Spirit
Oklahoma City, OK + Retreats at Select Locations in US
“Your body is holding onto pain, shame and trauma! You know how I know? Simply because you’re a human being. Our bodies are indeed keeping the score as Bessel Van Der Kolk says. This group is meant to be an exploratory opportunity to look behind the veil of the pain, shame and trauma, which is in all our lives, in order to receive the healing God longs to offer each and everyone of us! This will not be anything like traditional talk therapy, so you don’t have to worry about sharing your story in front of everyone. This is far more playful and meant to bypass your pre-frontal cortex to allow you to truly access your deepest struggles and be able to receive new information in order to heal; transforming your mind in order to recognize and respond differently in the future. So basically it’s group therapy with a twist and cheaper than one on one counseling sessions.” -Salt + Spirit

Greenshoe Foundation
Edmond, Oklahoma
“The Green Shoe Retreat focus is on personal growth, self-actualization, personal and professional success in forming and maintaining healthy relationships. We work with people to raise awareness of how past family roles and family systems influence their current behaviors and relationships. Our 5-day retreat is based on Post Induction Therapy (PIT) which originated from the experimental application of strategies developed to treat the effects of childhood relational trauma. These strategies were developed by Pia Mellody through her work at The Meadows inpatient treatment center.”
